Wisconsin 4-H Foundation
The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation and generous sponsors provide funding for these educational scholarships to outstanding Wisconsin 4-H youth. We are pleased to provide these scholarships in order to show our appreciation for your accomplishments as a result of your 4-H experiences, and to support your future educational goals.
Criteria, Instructions, and Application
The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation's Scholarship application is available as an editable Adobe Acrobat document. The packet includes all criteria, instructions, and application. Applications must be EMAILED by February 24, 2012, and must be typed or word processed, complete and made into an electronic file - PDF preferred or they will not be considered.

Who can apply?
- Applicant must have a high school graduation date of June, 2012 or earlier.
- Applicant must have been a Wisconsin 4-H member for at least one year.
- Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll as an undergraduate in a university, college, or technical school during the 2012-2013 academic year.
- Applicant must have a current grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicant must meet other eligibility requirements specific to individual scholarships.
- Applicant is not eligible to receive a scholarship in an area for which they previously received one.
How do I apply?
- Scholarship applications are available beginning in December 15, 2011, and can be downloaded from the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation website www.uwex.edu/ces/4h/foundation, or by contacting the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, Kristi Thering-Tuschen at ktt@wis4Hfoundation.org or 608-333-2023.

Following is a brief description of the scholarships available for the 2011-2012 academic year.
4-H Community Service Scholarships
Sponsor: Francis & Phyllis Conrad Memorial Scholarships
Award: $750 (2 scholarships awarded)
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a university, college, or technical school located in Wisconsin.
- Applicant must have demonstrated his/her commitment to community service.
- Preference will be given to Clark County residents when there is a choice between equally qualified candidates.
4-H Agricultural Scholarship
Award: $1,000 (one scholarship awarded)
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be a Wisconsin resident and have been a Wisconsin 4-H member for a minimum of one year.
- Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must be majoring in some aspect of agriculture and include some explanation of how they plan to use their education.
- Applicant must have a farm background or have been involved in agriculture-related 4-H activities.
- Applicant must have a current grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
4-H Leadership Scholarships
Award: $1,000 (2 scholarships awarded)
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must have been active in a 4-H youth leadership activity for at least three years.
- Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a university, college, or technical school.
Elizabeth Salter-Eby Memorial Scholarship
Sponsor: Elizabeth Salter-Eby Memorial Scholarship
Award: $300 Scholarship (1 scholarship awarded)
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must have been active in a 4-H youth leadership activity for at least one year.
- Applicant must be attending a University of Wisconsin university or college.
- Applicant must be planning on pursuing a teaching degree or enrolled or planning to enroll in a childhood development, interior design, fashion design or a similar major with a tie to home economics or human ecology at any UW System campus.
4-H Natural Resources & Environmental Education Scholarship
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must have been active in a 4-H Natural Resources and Environmental Education Project for at least one year.
- Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a university, college, or technical school.
4-H Animal Sciences Scholarships
Sponsor: Oscar G. & Mary M. Woelfel Memorial Scholarships
Award: $1,000 (1 scholarships awarded)
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at any of the University of Wisconsin campuses.
- Applicant must have a current grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicant must be from a rural community outside of Dane, Kenosha, Milwaukee, and Racine counties.
4-H Horse Scholarships
Sponsor: Wisconsin 4-H Horse Association
Award: $1,000 (5 scholarships awarded)
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must have been a Wisconsin 4-H Horse and Pony Project member for a minimum of three years.
- Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a university, college, or technical school.
- Up to 25 additional points will be given to youth who have volunteered at Wisconsin State 4-H Horse Association activities and events and/or held youth leadership positions within the Wisconsin State 4-H Horse Association. Be sure to include your Wisconsin State 4-H Horse Association activities in Section A, 4-H Leadership Activities.
