Northwest Wisconsin Regional Food Network

Mission Mission

The Northwest Wisconsin Regional Food Network is a grassroots group of local farmers, volunteers and agency staff working together to create a regional food system that connects consumers back to the land and provides locally produced, fresh and nutritious foods to all segments of our community while preserving the region's environment and sustaining the local economy for years to come.

Join Please Join Us

We welcome anyone interested in growing, selling, buying, cooking or eating food to participate in our initiative. We hold monthly meetings throughout the region and would like to work with you to generate ideas for supporting local farms, creating and enhancing local markets for local products, reducing hunger, and educating our community about sustainable agriculture and the local food system development movement.

Regulations

  • 2007 Updated fact sheets summarizing food regulations
Both fact sheets are intended to be simple road maps to help with decisions on sourcing food and where to get more specific information.  We hope to increase the amount of local food produced, purchased and consumed in Wisconsin and want to make sure that producers and institutions are aware that local restaurants, grocers, hospitals, etc. can buy from local producers.  In some cases, such as raw agricultural fruits and vegetables, no license is required.
