Safety of Produce from Flooded Garden
As a result of recent flooding, questions have been raised about the safety of consuming produce from gardens that where under water for a day or two. How concerned you have to be about using garden produce after a flood depends, to a large degree, on how "clean" the flood water was or whether it was likely to have been contaminated with sewage, river or creek water, farm run-off, or industrial pollutants. <More Info>
Clean sweep is a hazardous waste collection program designed to treat, store, or dispose of waste in an environmentally safe and licensed hazardous waste facility. This clean sweep is specifically aimed at collecting hazardous wastes generated by households, farms and small businesses.
THIS YEAR is a pharmaceutical collection only at the Beaver Dam Highway shop, N8856 County Road A from 8 am to noon. Also returning this year is computer collection at the Beaver Dam Location. Printers and CPUs can be discarded at no charge. A $10 fee will be collected for the Disposal of each monitor. <More Information>
ONLY residents of Dodge County are eligible to participate. Farms and businesses need to PRE-register.

- Self-Study. You may still become certfied through the self-study option. You must achieve a minimum 70% test score with the self-study option. You may purchase your materials at the UW-Extension, Dodge County Office, familiarize yourself with the information, contact the office to make an appointment to come in and take your exam. Please make arrangements for an exam at least a day or two ahead of time to ensure that a room is available for your use. Cost $30.
- Please stop by the UW-Extension, Dodge County Office between the hours of 8-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday to pick up your materials and pay the fee. For additional information/questions, please email mhanson@co.dodge.wi.us or phone 920.386.3790.

DODGE COUNTY MASTER GARDENER
An organizational meeting was held on March 18, 2004 and there was an interest in establishing a local association. On April 29, 2004 a board of directors was elected, a project list for 2004, and a calendar of upcoming events was established.

ANIMAL PREMISES IDENTIFICATION
The Wisconsin Premises Registration Act requires anyone who keeps, houses, or co-mingles livestock to register their premises. Premises that are not currently licensed by the DATCP are required to register by January 1, 2006. Those premises currently licensed by the Department must register by their annual license renewal date.
