Website Helps Gardeners Choose Vegetable Varieties

Cornell's newest Citizen Science in Horticulture project website makes it easy for gardeners to compare varieties and become more aware of the wide diversity of varieties that are available. Gardeners can search or browse for more than 2,000 varieties, view details for each including how long they take to mature, and find links to seed companies that sell the variety. Gardeners may share what they've learned and rate and review particular varieties. The site also includes links to other Cornell gardening resources, including online growing guides for more than 60 garden crops.

Invasive Species

Invasive species are a concern for Wisconsin's waterways, wetlands, prairies, and woodlands. Invasive species are very aggressive in their establishment and are able to out compete native species for essential water, sunlight, and nutrients. Control, awareness, and education are important to keep them out of Wisconsin's natural ecosystems. Join us in keeping Wisconsin beautiful!

Wisconsin Trails and Natural Areas  

  • Kettle Moraine State Forest has over eighty miles of groomed and marked trails and wonderful wildlife - The southern unit is located five miles north of Elkhorn on Hwy. H
  • Paul Lange Memorial Arboretum - Located on North Terrace St. Delavan, WI
  • Big Foot Beach State Park - Has hiking, camping, fishing, and picnic areas to enjoy!

  • Fontana Fen - Ten acres of unique wetland prairie habitat
  • Four Season's Nature Preserve - Enjoy trails that bring you through wetlands and prairies. There is also a dog exercise area located on the property. Located on Hwy. H south of Lake Geneva, WI
