Search the database of water-related curricula


Youth water education materials are plentiful and vary greatly in content, scope and quality. So it's not always easy for educators to choose materials that meet their goals. A National Review Team chose the curricula listed in the Educating Young People About Water database. The Team identified nine key water topics and a set of important subtopics to add detail for the process of reviewing the curricula and for the educator to use to find appropriate choices to meet their needs. Please note that in reviewing the curricula, the Team only looked at whether the topics were present in the activities and information; they did not evaluate the quality or relevance to a particular topic.

There are currently 185 curricula listed in the database. To tailor your search of the curricula to meet your educational objectives choose from one of the following:

  1. List of All 185 Curricula - This choice allows you to view the Name, Description, and Link to Details for each curricula. The Link to Details selection tells more about the program including the following:

  2. Choose Curriculum Based on Grade Level(s) - After choosing a grade level(s) of interest, a list of curricula will appear. At the bottom of each curriculum you may access more detailed information about that selection by clicking on "View more details on …" that leads to the Topics Covered, Instructional Format and Environmental Education Goals for that curriculum as described above.


  3. Choose Curriculum Based on Topic(s) and Subtopic(s) - This is a checklist of water quality education topics and subtopics. For each curricula that appears you will find the "View more details on…" link that leads to the Topics Covered, Instructional Format and Environmental Education Goals for that curriculum as described above.
