High quality child care is good for Wisconsin's working parents and Wisconsin
businesses. It's good for Wisconsin's future, as well.
We know that high quality early care and education programs have a big impact
on children's later success in school and life.
Wisconsin's Early Childhood Excellence Initiative was established to increase
the quality of care for the state's children. These Centers for Excellence
are providing outreach to other child care programs in their communities in
concert with the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (Child
Care Section), local child care
resource and referral agencies and the University
of Wisconsin-Extension.
What's more, the entire state of Wisconsin benefits from this Initiative
because "Promising Practices"
from the Centers for Excellence are being documented and shared with all 10,000
regulated child care programs in Wisconsin!
