  State Contact Roles and Responsibilities

We are identifying one person in each state who can assist with the promotion and marketing of the upcoming video satellite conference, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren:  Implications for Professionals and Agencies.  State facilitators are critical to the success of this program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

*Answer questions about the video satellite program from your site facilitators in your state.

*Promote the video satellite program with agencies and organizations in your state who would be interested in its content.

*Help identify individuals within communities who would serve as a site facilitator and encourage them to register a site where the program will be offered.

*Provide linkages in your state with local sites and state organizations and agencies who provide services and educational programs to grandparents and the children they are raising.

*Assist the University of Wisconsin-Extension with questions they receive regarding your state’s sites.  Be a referral point for the University of Wisconsin-Extension when they are unable to answer state specific questions.

*Make contact with the necessary state agencies and organizations to assure that CEU’s can be offered in your state.

*In  states where satellite technology is not available in county Extension offices, state contacts will need to locate satellite downlink facilities that can be used.  Some examples of local organizations or agencies which often have these facilities include hospitals, universities, technical schools, K-12 schools, organizations, such as Red Cross, United Way or other organizations who may have access to satellite equipment which is steerable and capable of receiving C-band signal.
