Annie's Project -- 2008
Helping Wisconsin women become effective business partners on
the farm.
Overview: Wisconsin farm women can look forward to special
classes devoted to helping them manage information management systems
for their farm. The undertaking is called Annie’s Project and
is made possible by a grant from the North Central Region Risk Management
Education Center (NCRRMEC). Annie was a woman who grew up in a small
town in Northern Illinois. Her goal was to marry a farmer and she
did. Annie spent her lifetime learning how to be an involved business
partner with her farm husband. Together they did great things but
it wasn’t easy. This is Annie’s project—to take
her life’s experience and share it with farm women living and
working in a complex business.
Purpose: Annie’s Project is designed
to empower farm women to manage information systems used in critical
decision making processes and to build local support networks, throughout
the state. The target audience is farmwomen with a passion for agri-business
and/or involvement in an agri-business they married into, were a
part of all their life, or just plain wanted to start on their own.
Agenda: Farmwomen will receive training for managing information
in areas of Financial Records, Production Records, Marketing Plans
and Risk Management, Legal/Regulation Records and Documentation,
and Human Resources and Time Management.
