The Center's © Primer is an interactive tutorial provides an introduction to issues concerning copyright ownership and use of information and underlying principles behind copyright in the United States. The Center is located at the University of Maryland University College. -

To meet the developing application of copyright laws in the online environment, The Center for Intellectual Property sponsors the DIGITAL-COPYRIGHT listserv. Long anticipated by educators and librarians, TEACH redefines the terms and conditions on which accredited, nonprofit educational institutions throughout the U.S. may use copyright protected materials in distance education-including on web sites and by other digital means--without permission from the copyright owner and without payment of royalties." -

The article summarizes: "The TEACH Act provides some much needed clarification and expansion of privileges for distance learning.
