The Center for Democracy and Technology
The Legislative Center section of this site identifies issues to be addressed by Congress, including consumer privacy, digital copyright, and open government. For each topic, information is provided on the bill number, its sponsor, status and a summary. An archive of issues from earlier Congress agendas is also available. -
Copyright Legislation
The U.S. Copyright Office of the Library of Congress provides an extensive section on legislation relating to copyright and fair use. Public law numbers and titles are available for enacted legislation. Included is a link to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act as well as links, reports and testimony for other legislation. An archived section includes links to legislation of previous congressional sessions. -
Distance Education Legislation Links
The information collected by ITC (Instructional Technology Council) includes not only links to related legislation and commentary, there are also sections referring to ITFS and the FCC, Student Financial Aid and links to government related sections from other Associations. -
Federal Register
Published by the U.S. Office of the Federal Register, National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), the Federal Register is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents. -
Legislation and Regulations
From ACUTA, the Association for Telecommunications Professionals in Higher Education. ACUTA is an international non-profit educational association serving colleges and universities. The committee's mission is to monitor and report to the ACUTA Board and Membership on telecommunication legislative and regulatory activities affecting higher education. -

The Technology, Education and Copyright Harmonization (TEACH) Act
From the ALA (American Library Association) Web site, prepared for ALA by Kenneth D. Crews: "On November 2nd, 2002, the "Technology, Education and Copyright Harmonization Act" (the TEACH Act), part of the larger Justice Reauthorization legislation (H.R. 2215), was signed into law by President Bush. Long anticipated by educators and librarians, TEACH redefines the terms and conditions on which accredited, nonprofit educational institutions throughout the U.S. may use copyright protected materials in distance education-including on websites and by other digital means--without permission from the copyright owner and without payment of royalties." -

Topics in Internet Law
From the Internet Public Library (IPL), this is an annotated collection of resources relating to Internet law (or Cyberlaw). The pathfinder starts by referencing some defintions of Internet law. The resources are grouped by topic area, including sections on Commerce, Jurisdiction and Internet Governance. This IPL Pathfinder was created by Andrew Larrick. -
UCLA Online Institute for Cyberspace Law and Policy (Archive)
The institute is not currently addressing new developments in this area; however, it will continue to provide online users with resources collected and posted over the past ten years.
