FTF Public Videoconferencing Site Online Database

Face-To-Face Communications, Inc. provides a free, searchable database of public videoconfernce rooms worldwide. Guest users may search by city, country, company name, data speed, equipment, etc. A keyword search is also an option. Site administrators may login and add or update their own data. FTF Videoconference Rooms and Services has sites and partner sites in Japan and Hong Kong. A growing number of public rental sites in the FTF Global Directory are IP-enabled. FTF has been providing this Public Videoconferencing Site Directory for many years. -

MIVNET is an alliance of video conferencing facility and service providers. MIVNET provides public access to a global videoconferencing directory with listings in more than 71 countries. Users wishing to locate rooms have a variety of search options, but must provide their email addresses to access the MIVNET database. MIVNET is the Metropolitan Interactive Videoconference Network. -

From the British Columbia Ministry of Education, this is a listing of public videoconference sites in British Columbia. Entries list city, organization and address, site contact, telephone/fax, speed and room capacity. Links provide additional details about many of the individual sites. The Directory includes government, private, community, business university and other types of sites. A single printable list is also available. -
Classroom Conferencing

This is an older Directory of K12 schools that have indicated a willingness to participate in videoconferencing for their students. A limiting requirement of the Directory is that all those listed must be a functional CU-SeeMe site. In addition to general contact information, listings include information on the school, grade range, and a response to the statement: "How we use classroom videoconferencing". A majority of the entries have not been updated for many years, but some new sites continue to be added to the Directory. -
International Videoconferencing List

This list was created by St. Joseph's University and was last updated in 2000. It originally included listings for about 25 countries. Information about each site typically includes contact info, codec, room access and charges, locations, etc. Some information contained within the listings may no longer be current, but the Web site does still function. -
JVCS Booking Service

The JVCS Booking Service enables registered users to create videoconference booking requests and to view the details of videoconferencing facilities at any of the JANET registered organizations. Non-registered users can view the details of any existing videoconference booking by entering the appropriate booking reference. JANET is a private, government funded network for education and research in the UK. -
Kansas State's Video Conferencing Point of Contact and MCUODatabases

This database was specifically designed to address the problems with scheduling university to university video conferencing events. The main issue that makes scheduling campus to campus events difficult seems to be finding the person at the far end who can schedule equipment and rooms and provide technical information. This POC and MCU databases are reserved for higher education and research facilities, especially those linked to Internet2. -

From the SBC Knowledge Network Explorer Videoconferencing site, this free, searchable directory offers users the ability to select sites by type, equipment, location etc. A single list of all sites is also available. The database contains over 1000 listings of videoconferencing sites of interest to K-12 school, community college, and public library communities. The directory includes contacts, program descriptions, and equipment information and was of the first videoconferencing directories available on the Web. -
VConf Directory

Helsinki University of Technology, Centre for Educational Technologies offers a global videoconferencing site directory which provides detailed information on videoconferencing sites (e.g., full contact information, codec brand and model, data rates, hours of operation, etc.). HUT CET also provides the MCS Directory which contains information on Multipoint Connection Services (aka videoconferencing bridges or multipoint connection units - MCUs) located all over the world. The date each entry was posted is available Some entries are several years old. -
ViDeNet Search Engine

ViDeNet provides a comprehensive directory of GDS-enabled videoconferencers. Users may search the Directory on any one of the following fields: Name, Organization, Department, Email, Title, Phone, Street Address, City, State/Province, or Postal Code. Also, a pulldown list of countries is available. Results include endpoint H.323 Dialed Digits Alias, H.323 ID Alias and owner. Dialing Directions and other help is offered by other parts of collaboratively created materials. -

Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC) Videoconferencing Site Search

CILC offers consulting, collaborative partnerships and videoconferencing programs. Hundreds of schools, libraries, healthcare facilities, and businesses are approved CILC video conferencing sites. Each of these sites has demonstrated it can connect effectively with SBC's AAVS Network. The list of approved sites is searchable by city, county, state, zip or keyword. -

Videoconference Resource

Directory results are listed in graphical map formats, with option to view a brief or full display. Maps provide an opportunity for showing greater geographical areas. Although users have options to add their own site, many locations are listing only one or two rooms. The pulldown menus for country names and names of states helpfully indicate the number of rooms in each geographic location.
