As a faculty member of University of Wisconsin-Extension, the 4-H STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Specialist is responsible for leading a statewide initiative to increase Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development’s capacity to meet youth development educational needs related to STEM. Backed by University research, the Specialist incorporates pertinent findings from the social, human and behavioral sciences and the science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines as a basis for educational programs to support the positive development of youth. The Specialist works closely with county Extension faculty and staff and 4-H volunteers in planning, implementing and evaluating local and state educational programs to increase STEM-related competence in Wisconsin youth. As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Barron County, the 4-H Youth Development Agent is a leader in accessing and applying research findings in the social, human and behavioral sciences. The Agent organizes community resources in support of the positive development of youth, especially in the areas of leadership, interpersonal and citizenship skills. Current 4-H Youth Development programming in Barron County has a focus on community service/service learning programs, volunteer development and teen leadership development.

The 4-H community club is Extension's fundamental model for youth programming that is offered in counties throughout Wisconsin. As a faculty or academic staff member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Monroe County, the 4-H Youth Development Agent is a leader in accessing and applying research findings in the social, human and behavioral sciences. The Agent organizes community resources in support of the positive development of youth, especially in the areas of leadership, interpersonal and citizenship skills. Current 4H-YD programming in Monroe County focuses on 4-H community club programming, leadership development for older youth, partnering with community agencies including libraries, schools and the Hispanic Resource Center, providing out of school/after school learning experiences and providing youth and family programs /4-H community clubs in partnership with Fort McCoy.

Current 4-H Youth Development programming in Dunn County is focusing on community club programming, teen leadership development, volunteer development and offering programming in partnership with the Dunn County Partnership for Youth, Greater Menomonie Chamber Education and Workforce Committee, schools and other organizations.

The Organization

Wisconsin Public Radio is the second largest public radio network in the country with two state-wide services, 29 stations, an HD service and broadcasting via the web. WPR has a long history of innovation and programming excellence and currently produces a number of nationally distributed programs and is home to the oldest radio station in the country. WPR is headquartered on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison and has six regional bureaus located around the state.



The Opportunity

Wisconsin Public Radio seeks three goal-oriented individuals in the key position of Corporate Development Representative to secure financial support for both statewide and nationally-produced programs heard on WPR. This is an opportunity to use your sales and relationship-building background to solicit underwriting for Wisconsin Public Radio programming while contributing to the strategic growth of the Corporate Development Department.



Responsibilities

Corporate Development Representatives are responsible for meeting quarterly and annual revenue goals for Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) programming and other related activities. Identifying and securing new corporate funding as well as enhancing revenue from current clients are key responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include representing WPR to the local business community by attending trade fairs and speaking to service organizations. Two positions will be located in the Milwaukee Bureau and one position will be located in the Green Bay Bureau with responsibility for the entire Fox Valley.

Qualifications

The appropriate candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and up to two years full time professional work experience in client service, sales or a marketing intensive environment (a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 or more years of successful experience for intermediate level). S/he must have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills along with demonstrated ability to make sales or request financial support while maintaining professional resilience. The ability to analyze and interpret data to develop presentations is a necessary job skill. Demonstrated understanding of broadcasting and media as well as familiarity with Wisconsin-based businesses is very desirable. A personal means of transportation is required.



Compensation

The minimum salary for this position is $35,358 ($40,526 at intermediate level) with actual pay proportional to experience. UW-Extension offers a comprehensive fringe benefits package.

Geologist With Emphasis In Sedimentary Process (100%) - WGNHS

This position will focus on sedimentary processes. The Geologist conducts fundamental and applied research in areas relating to clastic sedimentary processes through field-based investigations including but not limited to geologic mapping, clastic sedimentology, and issues relating to the stratigraphic and hydrostratigraphic framework of the Quaternary and/or Paleozoic sediments and rocks of Wisconsin.
